Relative pronouns

Relative pronouns
Pronomes realtivos são usados para substituir termos e unir orações. O mais comum é o THAT, que substitui as palavras which e who. Veja a aplicação de cada um.
who – refere-se a pessoas
I have a friend. My friend was born in Alaska.
I have a friend who was born in Alaska.

which – refere-se a coisas em geral, lugares e animais
My father bought a car. The car was made in Germany.
My father bought a car which was made in Germany.

whom – refere-se a pessoas, vem precedido de preposição
That is the person. I handed the keys to that person.
That is the person to whom I handed the keys.

whose – (cujo, cuja) indica posse e refere-se a pessoas, coisas, animais, etc.
This is the bird. Its wing was hurt.

This is the bird whose wing was hurt.
